The Essential Facts of Backgammon Game Plans – Part Two

As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of talent and good luck. The goal is to move your pieces carefully around the board to your inner board and at the same time your opposition shifts their checkers toward their inner board in the opposing direction. With opposing player pieces heading in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the need for specific techniques at specific times. Here are the two final Backgammon techniques to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the purpose of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to move their pieces, the Priming Game strategy is to absolutely stop any movement of the opponent by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s chips will either get bumped, or end up in a damaged position if he at all tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be built anywhere between point two and point 11 in your game board. After you have successfully constructed the prime to stop the movement of your opponent, the opponent does not even get to roll the dice, and you shift your chips and toss the dice again. You will win the game for sure.

The Back Game Technique

The objectives of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game plan are similar – to hurt your opponent’s positions in hope to improve your chances of succeeding, however the Back Game strategy relies on seperate techniques to do that. The Back Game strategy is frequently employed when you are far behind your opponent. To play Backgammon with this plan, you need to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This technique is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your checkers and how the chips are moved is partly the outcome of the dice toss.
