As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and luck. The goal is to move your chips safely around the board to your inner board while at the same time your opponent shifts their pieces toward their inside board in the opposite direction. With competing player pieces heading in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for specific strategies at specific times. Here are the 2 final Backgammon techniques to finish off your game.
The Priming Game Strategy
If the aim of the blocking plan is to slow down the opponent to shift his pieces, the Priming Game strategy is to completely barricade any movement of the opposing player by assembling a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s chips will either get bumped, or result a damaged position if he/she at all attempts to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be established anywhere between point 2 and point eleven in your board. As soon as you have successfully built the prime to block the movement of the opponent, your opponent does not even get a chance to roll the dice, and you move your pieces and toss the dice yet again. You will be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Strategy
The goals of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game strategy are very similar – to hurt your competitor’s positions with hope to improve your chances of winning, but the Back Game strategy utilizes alternate techniques to do that. The Back Game technique is often utilized when you are far behind your opponent. To play Backgammon with this technique, you need to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This strategy is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the checkers are relocated is partially the result of the dice roll.
